How EFT Tapping Helps Release Shame Around Clutter
How do you feel when you think about your clutter?
Most would say overwhelmed, embarrassed, or ashamed…feelings that aren’t helpful or useful.
Have you realized that you can choose how you want to feel? Even as you declutter?
Dawn Norton used to think she was at the mercy of her emotions. When a thought comes up, a feeling would take over, and that’s just how it is. But through EFT tapping, she learned something she once laughed at:
You can choose how you feel. With practice, patience, and a lot of compassion; you can learn how to think in a way that will lead to feelings that will actually serve you as you declutter your home.
So the first thing to declutter? The negative ways in which we talk to ourselves. Because the hardest part isn’t the pile itself. It’s the shame that shows up when we look around and think, How did I let it get this bad? That shame becomes its own kind of Clutter, keeping us frozen, overwhelmed, and disconnected from the agency that will inspire us to take the next lighter step.
